Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the US who are at least 18 years of age as of March 15, 2000 I am getting tired of all these sweepstakes who are only open for Us residents. What are Marriott thinking of? Only US residents who stays at their hotels? Maybe that will be the cause in the future if this continues

Every country has a different language, legal system, different laws and taxes, and even more different interpetations on how things should be. Trying to get these promotions, pay outs, sweepstakes, programs, etc. to run profitably and legally in every country is not possible. If they could do it and make more money than it cost to execute and maintain, I'm sure they would extend these promotions.

I agree completely with Kempis, re: only open to U.S. residents. Many airlines and hotels are running promotions and contests that anyone outside the U.S. cannot enter. While the laws of other countries may be different,
(for example, up here, selected contestants must answer a skill testing question by mail or telephone, before being declared a winner)
still is it really so difficult to register the contests or promotions anywhere except the U.S. Has anyone from the airlines or hotels ever taken the time to check this out?? Would make for a wider base of happier customers.

Pointman, I am tired too of these promotions ans sweestake only for US resident.

When they welcome our money, they welcome it, spent in austria, canada, mexico or New-zeland.
When it comes to these promotion, then the regulations are very very hard to comply with. That doe snot make sense.
