clickmiles->starwood double miles computer error or unknown bonus ?

Strange, strange very strange...

I moved all my clickmiles to my Starwood gold account as Compubank debit card cancelled their partnership with clickmiles. I check my starwood account today and noticed DOUBLE miles everywhere !!! I transfered in 3 sums, all 3 show miles doubled in the transfert process. I couldn't find any post on an unknown double miles promotion like the famous one last year. Are they about to repeat the promotion but haven't advertised yet ?

Anyway, I quickly moved my fiancee points the same direction and bonus again ! ... combined our accounts (don't need to be married, just same household) emptyed my inflated starwood account to my favourite airline programs 20k->25k. That way they sure can't take it back !

Enjoy while it lasts...

Can you tell us when you did the transfer and how long it took to get to Starwood. Maybe I'll send a small amount to see what happens.

Today must be my lucky day.
1. Got the courage to register and post here after lurking for a couple weeks.
2. Saw your post, went to check my NW account to see if the 250 clickmiles I transferred to NW on 2/10/01 for the flyfreefaster promotion was doubled also. And it sure was.
3. I also received a duplicate shipment of my PlanetRX order. So I now have 30+ bottles of various vitamins for under $15. LOL.

You must have lucked out on the NW transfer. Neither mine or my wife's transfers to NW were doubled (transaction dates were Feb 4 and Feb 20).

Hold on a second hpcomp & pg.... What is being discussed here as being doubled are transfers from Clickrewards to SPG. Not transfers to Northwest.

hpcomp - welcome to flyertalk. Not sure what you mean here. Perhaps what you meant to say is your 250 clickrewards to SPG was doubled, not your transfer to Northwest.

If what you say is correct, then the double bonus is applicable to transfers to both Starwood & Northwest. If that is the case, what other airline transfers are being doubled!!

Still, transfers to Starwood are the best deal because when you have 20,000 Starpoints, you can transfer to a participating airline and SPG will add 5,000 more for a total of 25,000.

Yes! Going through SPG is the only way to go from clickmiles to miles. I noticed in my SPG statement that the transferts were simply doubled: one transfert = 2 identical transactions. Therefore one may assume that it is the clickmile computer that is going crazy... BTW, I made 75,000 bonus miles out of the 10k->20K->25K scheme yesterday...

Does anyone know if the double miles transfer from Clickrewards to Starwood is still working as of today?

I don't know if it is working but I am taking a chance.

I just transferred over 12,500 clickrewards to Starwood. Once clickrewards doubles I should end up with 25,000 starwoods miles. Then I will transfer 25,000 starwoods miles into NWA and get another 5,000 ending up with 30,000 miles.

It is suppose to take a week to hit my starwood account so I will post back if it is still working.

Good luck everyone.

I made a transfer of Clickmiles to Starwood a couple of days ago before seeing this thread and what a surprise I had to see the extra thousands of points.
Then I saw this thread and kept my fingers crossed that the points would remain.
Alas, my Starwood account points were deleted and the correct transfer of Clickmiles recredited today.

Satori,
Your email is a bit unclear. Are you saying that Starwood deleted the duplicate points so that you only received 1 Starwood point for each Clickmile transferred (instead of 2/Clickmile)?

Sorry if the post above is unclear. I was leaving work and I had just looked at my Starwood account. I transfered most of my Clickmiles to my Starwood account in anticipation of an April vacation and some nice hotel stays. I was surprised when I checked my account and found the clickmile transfer was posted twice to my Starwood account and I had received double Starwood points. After reading the post here and seeing other people also received double postings I figured it was just a matter of time before the error was corrected. When I checked my account today I saw the two postings from the other day were deducted from my Starwood account and a new posting with the correct 1 Starwood point for 1 Clickmile had been posted.

Hey, Let's all complain and get the double point computer error honored. It worked for the United $25 ticket purchases. (Just kidding)

I wonder if since Havane transferred his points out of Starwood before they reversed them if he can keep them? Not just Havane, anyone who transferred out before they caught the error...
