My wife and I are planning a trip to Barcelona during Labor day (depart 8/26 return 9/4). I have enough miles on my Amex Platinum for buisness class seats but am trying to figure out what is the best connection with the various airlines I can transfer miles to. Although you cant transfer to AA yesterday as I was doing my research I learned that I could potential book on Swiss (via Amex) and be on a AA code share flight which would be dfw-zurich-barcelona, barcelona-zurich-dfw. That sounded interesting. The other option I discovered is through Lufthansa dfw-frankfurt-barcelona but, since Lufthansa is NOT an Amex airline Partner but Air Canada is and Air Canada is a partner with Lufthansa maybe I can pull off this itinerary by transferring my miles to Air Canada's Aero Plan. Obviously I am trying to do this with the least amount of connections.

Any advice would be welcomed.

What about DL -- DFW ATL JFK BCN? Easy point transfer and access to Skyteam lounges with Business Class.
