Question about restricted travel dates w/ FF miles

I have multiple free tickets with accumulated FF miles but can NEVER use them since the airlines seem to black out these days for those who use their service most.

I also have a free ticket that requires a Sat night stayover before 1/1/05. I have travel plans to use it, but will not be staying over the Sat night.

Here is my question:
1) Can I use that free ticket, schedule myself to stay over the Sat night and then fly standby and pay the $50 fee? Or will I not even be allowed to fly on any other date?

2) Is there any way I can also do that with my frequent flyer miles? Redeem the miles for a later return date and then fly standby.

**almost all of these flights have room on them as of now**

Your opinions are greatly appreciated

Thank you.

You may wish to post this in the specific airline forum where you have the miles. Each airline is different in their rules... but many do not allow non-same-day standby; and different based on domestic or international.
