Had a truely great experience with caviar and Cathay (full report to follow). I was the only First Class passanger on the flight HKG-JNB and I got the full tin-14 ounces. The first plate that I recieved the FAs had made a star out of the caviar and the second a heart. I think the heart was to fulfill Cathay's ads "Straight from the heart." The FAs kept trying to give me more food, but I could not eat anything after that. It was great.

You are sooooooo lucky Globalflight!! Sadly, I only get the caviar from speciality stores in 4 pound tins. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

As of the beginning of the year, Swissair has dropped caviar from their service on "environmental" reasons.

Just did a JFK-FRA segment on SQ in First:

they had both caviar and Dom Perignon (neither one of which is a favorite of mine).

But great service and the food was excellent!

and I got the full tin - 14 ounces.
Really? That must have cost Cathay wholesale about as much as you paid for the F ticket. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Aeroflot used to serve very good Caspian caviar on trans-Atlantic flights (if you were brave enought to fly them). I don't know if they still do that.
