A bit of humor
This is from the book, NUTS! A History of Southwest Airlines...
Seems that the Southwest customer service department presents President Herb Keheller with letters that are difficult to answer. One time, somebody wrote to Southwest to actually complain that the toilet paper was hung upside-down in the lavatory. After much diliberation, nobody in customer service could think of a way to answer this letter so it was given to Herb.
He read the short letter and promptly started to write a response...
"Our toilet paper is hung correctly but what the hell were you doing upside down in one of our bathrooms?"
True story..read the book.

Since we're on the subject of travel books, I have a couple of other favorites:
The American Eagle : The Ascent of Bob Crandall and American Airlines
ISBN: 0312224532
An American Saga : Juan Trippe and His Pan Am Empire
ISBN: 039450223X
Unfortunately, both of these books are out of print. If you need help finding them plz email me and I'll do what I can.
These two men are my aviation heroes -- unique personalities in a business I truly love...

Bob Crandall is not one of my heroes. Crandall was tape-recorded by the president of Braniff trying to get Braniff to agree to fix the prices that the two airlines would charge for flights out of Dallas/Ft.Worth. Unfortunately, there is no law against attempted price-fixing, so they tried to charge Crandall with attempted monopolization, but he eventually agreed to a consent decreee not admitting that he had done anything, but agreeing never to do it again. Not exactly a free market hero in my book. The guy should have gone to jail.

If you are a boss or manager and need that last minute Christmas gift, Southwest airlines on their website is selling that "NUTS" book for around 25 bucks for orders of 10 or more.
SIte's at www.IflySW.com (I think.)
Nice website, but I think Southwest is NUTS
not to have a place to send e-mail too.
I guess it's still trying to figure out its boarding process! CATMAN
