Here is the scoop on the Hershey's/Southwest Airline deal (taken from the form):

Hershey's Save and Soar. Collect Hershey's candy bar wrappers and earn FREE travel on Southwest Airlines. How it works: Collect 50 wrappers and receive a gift certificate for $10 off a one-way or $50 off a round trip travel. Collect 275 wrappers and receive a free gift certificate ($150 value). This form had an attached coupon for the following Hershey's Candy bars:
Hershey's, Reese's, KitKat, York, Peter Paul, Twizzlers, Caramelo, PayDay, Rolo, and Health were words written on the coupon. The candy bars pictured on the coupon are: Twizzlers, York, Almond Joy, Mounds, Payday, Hershey (the regular one without almonds), Reeses Peanute Butter Cups, Reeses Sticks, and KitKat.

This sweepstakes form left MANY questions unanswered:
1. What size bars must be purchased?
2. Are all varieties of Hershey's allowed (i.e., Hershey's Cookies & Cream)or are the bars limited to the ones on the attached coupon?
3. What exactly is meant by "Limit one entry per mailing envelop per person"? Does this mean that a family of four could send in 4 entries in one envelop? Does this mean that one person could send in 10 entries (each set in a seperate envelop)?
4. Can you combine the GCs? I.e., for a $99 trip, can you combine 2 $50 GCs?

I have learned that eligable sizes for bars are 1.4 oz. up to 3.5 oz.
Has anyone else seen this? Is it legit?

I have to come to Pudding Guy's defense on this one. This candy promo doesn't even compare to the Kellog cert. promo. I don;t think we'll see many contests out there like Pudding Guy's mile/$ value. Let me know if anybody can top even the LatinPass run. We want miles, not discount towards purchase price. Just my 1 miles worth!

Actually this is better than miles. If I read this correctly, it is a $150 GIFT CERTIFICATE which differs from a discount certificate. If you go to SWA's website, you can actually purchase GIFT CERTIFICATES which spend like CASH. You earn segments on trips paid with gift certificates, so you are actually double dipping. Free trip and miles/segments. That is if I'm reading this correctly. I have used Marriott GC's which I have gotten free then stayed free AND collected Marriott Rewards points for my free stay. Just wondering if this could be a similar deal.

Can you please post a link before I go to Sam's Club and buy $10,000 worth of Hershey's miniatures....

Is this right? 275 candy bars at 3/$1 = $91.66 and you get $150 worth of travel on SWA and miles to boot? If this is the case a donation to the local schools (considering they promise to return the UPC) might make me a popular guy. And if I do 2,750 bars I'd be even more popular with the local dentists.

....and how am I to explain to the kids on Halloween why their candy bars have no outer wrapper?

This offer was apparently in the sunday paper coupon inserts within the last couple weeks. I didn't see it. Maybe it was a regional promotion. Anyone?

My friend evidently bought 1,100 candy bars for 4/$1.00, and sold the unused candy, without wrappers, on EBAY for $106. That's $275 minus 106, or $169 for 1,100 bars if I am adding right.

I've scoured the net for the details on this promotion and have finally came up with verification that it does indeed exist. On the Hersheys website it is briefly mentioned on their question and answer page.

A couple things I find interesting.
First, this promo has been out for about a month and nearly noone knows about it.
Second, seems they don't want too many people to find out about it, which means it must be a heck of a deal.

At least it ain't summer and I don't have to worry about all of that chocolate melting in my car!!!

Assuming the 4/$1.00 ratio, this means that you get a $150 certificate on Southwest for a purchase of $68.75 (275 candy bars). Then you can donate those candy bars to a shelter, ask to get the wrappers back, and get a fully deductable tax break.

I'm going to call the 800 number. Has anyone called these guys yet?
