how do i obtain FF miles for Dell computers?

Wondering how it might be possible to obtain FF miles for purchasing a Dell computer, WITHOUT the use of affiliated hotel/airline credit cards?

Computer cost is approximately $2700 and I would like to know any/all options for receiving mileage.

Im looking to purchase immediately, so all QUICK ideas welcome!

Thank you.

Dell is a member of AAdvantage eShopping so you can get AA miles if you purchase through the www.aadvantageeshopping.com site. Be sure to register your AAdvantage number if you're not already a member. AAdvantage eShopping is offering double miles through the end of September if you register for the promotion, so you'll get 2 miles/$, or 5,400 miles for your $2,700 computer.

Dell has corporate affiliations with several companies to give 10-20% off their retail prices (Employee Purchase Programs, as they call it). Make sure your / your spouse's employer is not an affiliate before going through AA shopping mall. Because those benefits far surpass the miles obtained and the two cannot be combined.

United Mileage Plus also has some thing they call Mileage Plus mall, if you purchase from Dell through their link, you will earn 1 mile per dollar spent at Dell.

A few years ago, I bought a new Dell computer directly from Dell, used my Diners Club card and received Club Rewards Points. On a related note, you could buy a Dell from Costco, (online only,) and use your affinity Amex, Visa or MC. The advantage of buying it from Costco, is they have a six month "return" policy. If anything goes wrong within the six months, you can exchange it for a brand new one at any Costco store. If there isn't one in your area you could ship it back to them. You'll also likely get the lowest price from Costco too. You can't beat that!!

Thanks everyone for responding...

I appreciate all the good advice, and I decided to purchase through American Airlines e-shopping. 1 mile per dollar spent isnt too bad without an affiliated credit card and works out to approx 5,600 miles.

Also, no need to purchase through CostCo as there are none in the Pittsburgh area and my previous Dell desktop has given me ZERO problems in 6 years so Im not worried about returning at all.

Thanks again for all the quick advice I do aprpeciate everything!

when ordering through Dell for AA miles watch the details

just wanted to let anyone considering purchaseing through Dell to know that making the pruchase through AA eshopping is not a problem but following the Dell website was more than frustrating and very long when making a desktop purchase.

Also the fine print for AA eshopping states that the merchant may ask for your name and AA FF number at the completion of purchase, but Dell does not ask at the end of purchase only at the beginning.

Also AA eshopping states that you may not open the browser to make your purchase and then leave the browser, open another, and return to complete your purchase, to do so will make your purchase invalid for miles.

You also must enable the acceptance of cookies on your browser when shopping the emerchants.

All of the above was done and now I am waiting for posting of the mileage, just wanted to post the details as they are easily overlooked. But I have to admit I have never encountered such specific details when making a purchase online from any merchant before.

I believe that CO also offers miles for Dell products purchased through their shopping portal.
