Hello all,
I am planning two trips using miles over the next year or so. One trip to Italy, another trip to Chile/Argentina. Origination of flights to be from the DC metro area.
The miles I want to these for these trips (C or F class, party of three for each trip) are banked with Alaska Airlines and Delta. In other words, miles from one trip will be cashed from AS, the other trip from DL account.
Of course, I can use miles from either airline to go to Italy as they both have partner options. However, I'm not quite sure which airline offers me greater flexibility of use for a South America trip.
Ideally, I'd like to build an itinerary that allows me to fly something like IAD-SCL-EZE-IAD inclusively. DL partners with AF for some EZE-SCL flights but I'm not sure I can include those on an itinerary. Can I use AS miles for a good itinerary to South America as well?
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU

Alaska will get you a ticket on American. American has excellent coverage of Central and South America, both with its own flights, and with code shares with Grupo Taca (my favorite airline in Central America). Just call the Alaska partners desk to see what they can do for you.
