Question for the board on transfering miles?

How do you transfer miles (say from me to someone else as a trade) for little or no money?
Thanks for the info

You should specify which airline program.

Since this is not an offer or an exchange, will move to Miles Buzz.

Every once in a while Continental sends me a notice (I forget if it's email or mail) offering me the ability to transfer miles for like 2.5 cents or something per mile.

This is not a very good deal IMHO.

for little or no money?
probably not

option 1
United, NW, American allow transfers in and out for a price
about $175 for 15k miles
you will need to find someone who is willing to pay $175 to get yours and you pay $175 to get theirs

option 2
increase your miles to the level needed to get them a ticket
then just make the reservation in their names

ps

a one way ticket option would really help this process
