I got the same e-mail and a credit for 100
miles. But I got so frustrated with the
service I took it off my computer (the stupid
window wouldn't stay up on my computer, and
I couldn't tell when I shrank it if it was
getting points!)

May give them a second chance later.

I hope you got the referral points, Beckles.
At least someone should get something out of this. CATMAN

Well, we'll see what happens in a few months if they manage to upgrade their infrastructure ...

After my initial posting, I honestly could not recommend this program to anyone anymore ...

Catman ~ Yes, I did get the 25 miles, and now you should have 100 miles in your account, which you can transfer into United ... the problem is you need to have the software and be able to connect to the server to do it!

Okay, so it is a pain... but FYI, you CAN keep that little window "on top" all the time so you don't have to manually click on it every time you open another window. Just click on that little black arrowhead on the right side of the MileNet advertising screen. Highlight "Always Keep MileNet on Top." That's it. Problem solved!

AusTXHiker ~ I think that must be a new feature, because my version of MilesNet does not have that option!

Well ... there's my problem ... it's like I'm working in the stone-age with Version 1.1!

Another setback for MileNet. I just received anemail from them informing me that United has pulled out of their program.

I've posted MileNet on The Airline Mileage Workshop website but I can't get too excited about it.

MilageAddict ~ From the letter MileNet sent it seems like they should not be the only one affected by United's withdrawl ... according to the letter from MileNet, United was reviewing its agreements with all online partners ... I wonder if this will affect others such as PlanetAll and BigBang.

Looks like another coffin nail for MileNet. They have eliminated the 25 mile referral bonus! In other words, the only way to earn miles with this program is to watch the little odometer turn on your desktop. This will earn you about half a mile per day.

Time to uninstall....

MA ~ Well, I haven't been overly impressed so far, but I think once they (if ...) get some advertisers things will get better.

I logged on today, and for the first time I actually saw an ad that wasn't one of their own ... and for the time the ad was displayed, my counter was absolutely flying! But they only displayed the ad for a short while and now it's back to the same old stuff and ticking off more slowly. Anyway, once they line up some advertisers, things *might* get better ... but I'm not holding my breath!

Hey Beckles -- maybe we should let them know about ALL of us. They could use it in their marketing materials? I'm game if you are...
