Why are posts regarding buying / selling of miles verboten? I understand that the forum has a need to prevent the posting of illegal topics. But the fact is that while most (if not all) programs prohibit buying or selling miles, there is no law against such activity (to the best of my knowledge). I just would like some clarification on the reasoning behind this policy... which honestly seems to elevate the FF programs' internal regulations to a legal status which they do not (IMHO) rightly deserve.

The owner of this board - Randy Petersen - sets down the rules for what is and is not acceptable for posting on this board.
He has decided that buying and selling of airline and hotel miles and points is not allowed on HIS board. That is his right.
He does allow for friendly exchange in Coupon Connection.
While Randy may feel no need to have to clarify his policy to anyone, you may try to ask him the question. If you want to know why he has that rule, you may wish to private messagy Randy Petersen or post your question in the "Only Randy Petersen" forum.
BTW.... welcome to Flyertalk.

nd_eric_77,
Also, let me extend a welcome to Flyertalk. As a newcomer you are likely not aware of a management guideline that "meta" discussions of Flyertalk policy are not debated anywhere but the Suggestions or Ask Randy Petersen boards.
William has answered the query thoroughly, and consequently I will retire this thread.
