That accounts for the big spike in the number of users (as well as the slower board (?)) this morning.

I doubt it, that article has been there for over a week and has been posted on FT several times already.

Great blog to read!

Thanks for the post.

Now... I wonder what happened to Blonde after going on the tarmac?

This article is what pointed me to FT...

...and this is my first post.

Anyway, the article's author finished her log over the weekend and now there's a link to it from MSN's home page as "Slate: Taking advantage of an airfare goof." It was the first thing I saw this morning and I'm sure a lot of people have been reading it all day.

She was apprehended, detained, questioned and released. As the airport police escorted her through the terminal, she shouted to her fellow FTers, "I think I'm being arrested." Then, on she went to party with the rest of us in Reykjavik.

On the return, I walked with her though passport control. The agent, who remembered her from a few days prior, started laughing the moment he saw her and kept laughing for a couple of minutes.

She was the star of the trip.

Talking

Meanwhile, in a true showing of the FT spirit, the Slate author managed to get bumped on her trip back to the US, and received (a) a routing through MSP to visit family ^ and (b) a free ticket to anywhere IcelandAir flies. ^

You have to read the Blog for that... I cannot give away the entire story.

Can you believe that? A bump, free ticket, free trip, upgrade.

What more can you ask for a $61 fare to Iceland?
