Alternative Parking @RDU

Do any of you know if there is alternative
(ie,cheaper than airport parking) parking at RDU and it's proximity to the airport?
Thanks

I lived in Durham, NC for 7 years, and found RDU parking to be cheap in the remote lots, although inconvenient. The only possible alternative I can think of that is both inexpensive and close is the National Guard Aviation Facility. If you are a member of the armed forces, there is a slight chance you could schmooze the guards there to let you park. Of course, you would still need to get someone to drive you from their parking lot to the terminal.

I know of no airport that has any close parking other than at their official lots.

Remote airport lots are cheaper than the new multi-level structure between the two airport lots.

official RDU website is http://www.rdu.com/
parking info: http://www.rdu.com/parking.html
All parking lots are $1.00 per hour.
Daily maximum charges for a 24-hour period are:
Hourly lots: $18
Daily: $6
Park and Ride lots 1 and 2: $4
Park and Ride lots 3 and 4: $3

There are two private offsite parking operators, Preflight Airport Parking 919-782-6230 which is more expensive than the airport lots but will shuttle you free to the terminal. Same with Thrifty Car Rental 919-832-9381, but also more expensive than airport

I recently discovered this website which SAYS they have cheaper parking http://www.rduairport.com/
but I have never used them and know nothing about them

Thank you both for your prompt response. The site map was very useful. It appears things have grown quite a bit at that airport since my last flight out of there in '92.
