F class 747 middle table in the cabin

What is that middle table for? Any airlines with a 747 with Business of Frist class in a 2-2 configurations has some table in the middle od the cabin. What do the flight attendants put on that table? What is it used for?
In particular SQ, LH (upper deck), AF and probably a few others. Thanks

Magazines, newspapers.

Snacks during the flight.

China Airlines used it to display and serve the various wines and champagnes offered during a flight I took from LAX to TPE.

My completely (totally ignorant) off-the-wall guess: landing gear?

It just seems so weird to see this towards the center-front on a 747. Sure they use it as a table, but why is it there in the first place? (I've only been on UA and LH 747's in the F and C cabins.) Plus, when they raise/lower the landing gear and/or use the front landing gear to steer the plane on the ground, it's a bit noisy there?

In the old days, maybe there was a barman there to serve you drinks? After all, those were the days when flying was no everyday matter! That was when flying was actually luxurious...

Back in the 80's on a SwissAir flight there was a big flower arangement on the table, canapes before dinner, then chocolates and liquers after. I have seen some arrangements with a couple seats instead of the table.
