new--some questions(AA)
I called Aadvantage today to try and get 3 seats to SAn Juan next March. I was told all the Plan Ahead seats are gone, but could use 30,000 extra miles for the Anytime awards. Is there any way around this? Also, this means I need an additional 5000 miles SOON. Any suggestions for quick mileage? I have a Citibank card already.

If you're not already using MCI, you can get about that many miles with them for signing up. Unfortunately, with some versions of the promo they don't all come through right away, so be sure to ask about that.
If you have a Citibank Visa, you can probably get a MasterCard, and vice versa.
And you can send people lots of flowers. If you need names to send them to, please get in touch.
Finally, do you need the miles now, or can you reserve the seats now and book them later when you've accrued the miles by flying? I've never been in this situation so I don't know, but you might ask about that.

Did you also try using your AA miles to fly USAIR to San Juan? AAdvantage flights may not be available because MIA -> SJU is so popular. If you are willing to go via CLT, PHL or PIT you may have better luck.
