No surprise that the board is slow
(Whoa! guided mode/enhanced mode.. i'm going to need to consult the manual!)
Just wanted to say that we should all be patient with the board's slow performance right now. Remember, FT has been closed for almost a week - that means a lot of FTers are logging in today to check out the new board. I bet they're getting five to ten times the number of accesses that they normally handle in a single day.
All that traffic is probably taking its toll. When the traffic volume gets back to normal, so will the board's performance. (I hope!)

The more technical reason why its so slow
The forum is now dynamicly processed, and so everytime we load a page, it will have to be regenerated. Previously, the pages are not generated on the fly but rather each time something is changed, so the web server was simply serving static pages that is updated often.
So the forum will never be quite as fast as the old one, but then there's a lot of new features. (is there a way to turn off the topic review? its making the reply pages very slow to load...)

Are they making any progress on getting this thing to work faster?
It's still painfully slooooow, and it's been 4-5 days now...
