http://www.myplaceware.com/mpw/becom...5289SJc1yvg6+a

Rules:

During the time period from February 22, 2000 through May 22, 2000, new and existing members of MyPlaceWare will receive 10 Points for each unique non-member individual who participates in a MyPlaceWare meeting scheduled by the member. Members will also receive an additional 10 Points for each unique participant who becomes a MyPlaceWare member and holds a meeting after participating in a member's meeting. http://209.185.131.251/cgi-bin/linkr...fmpw%2fcontest

SUMMARY: A host member of MyPlaceWare would take about 3 hrs to earn 50k AA miles if they met online here for 18mins with 5 unique people who later registered with MyPlaceWare-and they did this 10x over.

That's about 3333 FF mph. You only get about 500 FF mph (w/o bonuses) by flying. And no ticket to purchase, this is FREE!

I signed up but I didn't see any way to invite someone to a meeting except by email. I have a meeting set for 4:15 PST today if you want to try. Meeting ID is 6BG49K-W7NG. Unfortunately I think you have to send an email to a non-member and have them come to the meeting in order to get points. It is pretty confusing so I might call them to clarify.

OK, I've got it! We need to get a "conga line" thing going. Then we all take turns holding 16 minute meetings where FT'ers join in. We just have to get through the line and give everyone a chance to hold a meeting.

50 non-members in one meeting earns 25k AA miles, 100 earns 50K. The trick is, once you become a member(in order to host your OWN meeting and earn points), you do not count as a guest anymore.

The other catch is someone has to post a slide of some kind during each meeting, but that seems very easy.

We should all indicate our interest on this thread, but do not sign up until you are the one in line who needs to host a meeting.

Maybe I don't have it???

Basically, yes, I think you do have it.

If I, for example, as a member host a meeting with 5 nonmembers, I get 50 pts. If all 5 subsequently join, I get another 50 pts yielding 100 pts total. If I hold 10 meetings over this eligible period, I'd get 1000 total pts or 50K AA miles!

Please count me in as the next in line. It seems to me that the number of fresh attendees who have not yet signed up may need to grow exponentially for this thing to work. But maybe I don't really understand the process.

I'm willing. If I am understanding this correctly, I should not join until after I attend my first meeting. So if someone schedules a meeting, pls post, or e-mail me, the date/time and I will attend if the coffee and pastry are free.

I'm in too and I won't join until I attend a meeting. (Sounds like some sort of subversive group). Meeting may be interesting to schedule - we're a bunch of travelers and it's tough to attend a meeting while in the air!

Right, once we get a large enough list going here, Doc will post his invite code, followed by CG, Mauigirl, myself, etc moving down the list.
