CITFI - no more as of 8/1/00
The game has changed. It was good for everyone while it lasted.
CITIFI has been merged into Citibank and is no longer accepting any new applications as of 8/1/00.
I spoke to the new accounts department and was told Citibank does not take credit cards to fund an account like CITIFI did.
And the interest rate has changed dramatically. CITIFI was give 5.8% interest for a money market account. Citibank is half of that.

Apparently they are going to send out letters starting the 15th and are going to close all accounts and send checks for the balance of these accounts. I spoke with a Citifi person who gave me a number to Citibank. The Citifi rep did say that the promotional items (in my case the Palm Pilot) will still be sent but didn't mention anything about the accounts being closed. The Citibank rep gave me this information.

I spoke with Citi/fi on Fri.,they said they will be part of CitiBank but didn't hear of closing down and sending the $$ back. Also on 8/1 they tried to fund ANOTHER Imma for me but my CC was denied(the acct # on the app early July had one# which was closed on 7/31 since the card was upgraded), so they faxed me a new sinature card and said no probs with funding the acct that was opened on 7/28 but has a 0 balance. So as of now it seems we all might still be in business-I'll post again if in fact the acct didn't get funded w/the CC(of cause they tried to get me to send a check I said its too many hassles that way)

I just had a new savings account funded at $9900 on 8/2. Unfortunately, I used my Citibank AA card and it was charged as a cash advance. I know this because Citibank fraud division gave me a call to ask if I knew about a $9900 cash advance and if I had approved it. So I guess I would have been better off if they had denied my funding request. I should have listed to the posted who suggested bumping my cash advance limit to 0. Oh well.

So is it working, or not?!!?!?!?
Does anyone have the link to the web page (especially the one with the $100 offer)?
I was trying to find it using the search function but I got everything that I DIDN'T want!
I hope that it still works because I just got my Skymiles Card, my Starpoints Card, and my Worldperks Card, and I'm ready to go!!!!!!!!!!
