Hotels at Christmas/New Year
Hi guys,
This may be a stupid question, but I want to go to Thailand at Christmas, and have found that all decent hotels increase there rates significantly.
Does anyone know of any way to get more reasonable rates, at this peak time ???
Your assistance is appreated.

Alex there was a thread on this forum (I think) a couple weeks ago about BKK hotels. The one I use each visit costs about $US20 and is perfect for me, and is available all year round. Some others had used it too and agreed it was fine. I've had lots of friends book it as well. A/C, well stocked mini bar, cable TV etc. No business center etc, but on vacation I do not need that.
100 yards from Sukhumvit Road, train to airport, Ambassador food court, Robinsons etc.
Beware major chains ... all quote in strong $US and taxes are about 15-20% EXTRA as I recall. The one I use quotes tax inclusive in weak BAHT!
