Bravo, Rudi!

No more shorts on tourists in SE Asia (you can do it - grin and bear the heat and humidity), and if you are a female, please don't let it all hang out.
It's very embarassing, even if nobody says anything.
It's all about appearances in Asia but I guess they have seen it all over the years in BKK.

Worst moment in a city: Moped rush hour in Saigon in the rain, however apart from that I am quite fond of SGN.

Just wanted to add:

Not that anyone frequenting this board does any of the things mentioned in my above post.

Cheers,

Guido

This definitely can be a heated topic, since I know my choice of worst city and worst airline both get me into a lot of heated arguments

So I'll just say to each their own!

In reading the choices above, I thought many were going to say Detroit! Oh they were talking about foreign cities. Has anyone been to Calcutta?

As for NO shorts in BKK, it is just a matter of time!

Harumpf! Disneyland is NOT in outer Los Angeles, it's in Anaheim (Orange County). My Motto: If you've only been to LA you haven't been to California.

Worst City? I could pick apart things about a place, but there would also be something to say in it's behalf. I wasn't enamoured with Cairo.

OK let's think of a less controversial topic ... like religion?. Oh we already did that in the DL forum. Politics? Abortion rights? I'm sure we can think of some group or place to offend. Pass.

As I am a California Native, I have lived in Los Angeles all of my life and I like it here but not the smog. The cars and traffic make this place ugly but the life is here is grand. I think Athens would have to be my pick for the same reasons icluding all of the dirty men who like to chase female tourists and touch themselves in public. YUCK!

I would vote for Jakarta. And that was before I came back with something I did not want and lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks. (5'8" 130 was a little too thin for me).

I do not mind Mexico City, LA, or Sao Paulo. Hell, I would even go back to Bogota if I knew I would not be shot or kidnapped.

My worst trip was back in 1984 to Binghampton
New York, a very nice city.

It was late feb and the highest temp for the 3 days I was there was -14F.

As for the worst city to visit, probably Death valley Calif in July.

BTW, not liking a city is just a personal opinion. It does not mean you hate everyone who lives in, wish them any harm, or begrudge people who do like it. It just so happens that for whatever reason there are some places people just dont like! Is it really that wrong and politically incorrect to mention it here in this travel related forum?

Death Valley a city? HMMMMMMM!
Well there's Scotty's castle. But who would go there other then collecting exotic places for a list.

Don't forget Tijuana is only a short drive from San Diego and I can tell you where to park on the AMerican side next to the border gate for a fast walk through.
