kaukau: " FCA " :confused: That'd be FCC. See {Communications Act of 1934}

Brendan "..no US airport code is allowed to start with K, N, or W because those first initials are reserved for radio stations .."
The complete US radio prefix list is A, K, N, W; please explain all those "A" designators ?? And "N" tail numbers...

For every rule, the gov't will gladly provide no fewer than two exceptions.
If no rule exists, one shall be implemented on the spot.

Jtmom - an old favorite 'trick question' - 'Tri Cities' is the common name for MBS. Very different from TRI. Folks HAVE been ticketed to - and arrived at - the wrong place :D
What's that joke about departing Bison, NY ??

Good luck.

eqm?

I have been trying to figure out for months what this means. I know it has something to do with the FT who fly often and earn a lot of miles. I'm assuming it means earned _______ miles? What is it and how does it benefit you? :confused:

Are you talking about E Q M?

Elite
Qualifying
Miles

The "scorecard" for earning Elite status.

As opposed to RDM (ReDeemable Miles - - this is what you have to accumulate, to redeeem for actual free seats or upgrades)...

But I don't know what BIS miles are...

"But I don't know what BIS miles are..."

'Raw' Butt In Seat miles - approximately=EQM, less bonuses

:D see any page-top ->Quick Links -> Glossary

Thanks! I didn't know that glossary was there. That will come in handy when I am trying to decode the lingo here! :p

Thanks for clarifying that.

I had already found "Glossary" under "Help" - - and it doesn't work... generates:

Warning: main(../inc/main_db.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /glossary/inc/db_info.php on line 3

Someone should inform "the management"? Randy?

Doesn't work for me today either. They were working on (updating?) the site a few nights ago.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this info. As a LA. native and after living there for 21 years, before moving to an adjacent State, I had no idea how the abbreviation for the main New Orleans airport was created. What a great bit of history. :cool:

I wouldn't think there are many. :eek: But it's interesting to know that Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) isn't the only airport named after a guy who died in a plane crash.
