AA - Starwood

I'm posting this here because it concerns multiple programs:

Does anyone know (or think they know) why AA and VS miles only convert into HHonors pts 1-1 when all other airlines miles seem to convert 1-2?

Thanks

I think you mean HHonors points, not Starwood points???

The only reasonable explanation is that the value of an AA and VS mile is just less than other airlines. With AA HHonors points to miles is different than with the other airlines too, with more AA miles being given for a given number of HHonors points, again pointing to a less valuable mile on AA.
