Off to Belize

Hi all!
Well, it looks like we are going to Belize after all. The travel agent has talked to the people down there, and apparently, things are up and running. Piers have been knocked down, and there are beaches were there were none, and beaches that no longer exist. Apparently, the reef was a key protective factor.
Fortunately, Belize was not hit nearly as bad by Mitch as Honduras and Nicaragua.
My guess is that there will be a fair amount of construction going on....but oh well...thats the way it goes!
CYA all when we get back!
Beth

Happy & Safe Flying too RiceChex from the CAT! Also when you get back I would be interested in how the trip to Belize went.
My Friend Holly wants to go. (But e-mail me
the details, I wouldn't want to overload FlyerTalk more than it already has been!)

Rudi - Just look at the map of where Hurricane Mitch has been - it skirted Belize, but I imagine that the weather was still pretty rough!

Have fun - and an adventure - Ricechex

Belize is a wonderful place to visit! I haven't been there since 1981 but enjoyed my visit thoroughly. There is an amazing jaguar sanctuary in southern Belize that is worthy of a visit and the Tikal ruins of Guatemala are a very short distance away from the western border. I'm sure Beth/RiceChex with have a memorable time.

American Airlines I know flies to Belize City so if I save up my points, use the AA Visa
gold and get a few flights under my belt Holly and I could go there within the year.

I really want to go to see that Jaguar sanctuary since they are distant relatives
of my Yaz and Eddie! CATMAN
