experience with freeairmiles

Hi all

Today I logged into freeairmiles and found that they have finally started up and running. Would it be as good as they promised?

There appear to have been someubstantial changes to what they originally promised. Firstly there was talk of earning 50 miles per link to web page however the maximum number of miles per link I saw was only 10 miles.

Secondly it was estimated that one could earn up to 500 miles a day. I was able to earn 100 miles on my first day. This may yet improve however.

Finally it was anticipated that one could earn miles on a number of different airlines. The reality is that freeairmiles are a separate currency not redeemable at this stage for any airline miles. It appear that one will be able to redeem the miles for tickets through a travel agent partner and then earn miles for that flight at some future stage

At this stage it is not known how many miles one will need for a round trip ticket within the usa. I estimate that it will be of the order of 20,000 - 25,000 miles. At current rates it could take 8 months to a year to accrue a ticket.

I am disppointed that the program has changed so substantially from that originally envisaged however if the number of miles that are able to be accrued daily increases the program may have greater merit. There also needs to be a facility to exhange freeairmiles for miles on airline programs.

People's thoughts?

cheers Peter

It conclusion the program has changed substantially from

ffhound,

See topic "FreeAirMiles.com has officially launched!!!!" in The Buzz for additional comments. Also, based on others posts, I guess this topic is suppose to be under the S.P.A.M. forum.

I was referred to as an "idiot" for placing a post in the wrong area by another member. Ouch! and I was having such a good time learning the ropes.

Sorry to read that Raffy, exceptions prove the rule, the rule being that FTers are a pretty decent bunch.

Don't give a second thought, raffy. Whoever can't cut a newbie a little slack is thoughtless, rude and arrogant. Keep posting!
