Why did I think that 2,000,000 HH pts could be converted into 400,000 airline miles (or 480,000) AA miles? Is that info out-dated?

Here's my plan to get the one million miles:

Guatemala City - San Salvador
Aviateca (Grupo Taca) $102
San Salvador - Managua
Nica (Grupo Taca) $163.85
Managua - Tegucigalpa
Taca (Grupo Taca) $144
Tegucigalpa - San Jose
Lacsa (Grupo Taca) $192.2
San Jose - Panama City
Copa $173.3
Panama City - Bogota
Avianca / Sociedad Aeronautica $151
Bogota - Quito
Aces $189.2
Guayaquil - Lima
Aeropostal $268.8
Lima - Quito - Lima
Saeta $295
TOTAL: $1679.35

Three International Segments on Partner Airlines:
CDG --> AMS --> LHR --> AMS --> CDG
KLM

Hotels and car rentals: no problems.

My calculations come up the same as yours, OnePassMan... Someone know something we don't?

Pam And OnePassMan:

My apologies. It looks like you're right. Initially, I had gone to the FAQs section of the Hilton site which gave the exchange rate when exchanging minimal amounts of points. The conversion rate is better for 2,000,000 points and your rate is right.

Way to go, leroy11! A couple of questions:

1. How much does it cost to get to your departure city of Guatemala?
2. How many days will it take to get the flights in?

Thanks!

I have a provisional booking at STA Travel (a student travel agent) for a ticket on DL for $397.50 + tax from Boston to Guatemala returning from Lima. Only students and youths are eligible for this fare. However, check http://www.tiss.com . I'm going to spread it over 3 weeks, but I'm sure it could be done in 2 weeks or perhaps even 10 days!!

Anyone check with LatinPass in regards to the transferability of these bonus miles to Hilton Honors? I know that the 5,000 sign up bonus miles couldn't be transfer.

If we get this bonus and keep the miles in the LatinPass program as opposed to moving them over to Hilton (if that's possible for bonus-type miles), can we use them solely for travel on the KLM, TWA and USAir partner airlines?

1: I have built a reasonable itinerary using eight of the nine carriers, but I cannot locate any Aeropostal flights on either ITN or Expedia. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something?

2: For those of you worried about Bogota, ACES flies LIM-UIO, so you should be able to earn the bonus stopping in BOG only long enough to pick up a required Avianca flight.

For your Nica flight to count the flight must be Miami/Managua or visa versa as per a supervisor at Latin Pass I spoke with!!!

That's why I want to see the rules (i.e. what is international?)--we'll see if they are on the web site tomorrow. I think the disaster in Venezuela may be behind some of the lack of flights through Caracas.

To username UPGRADEME : The toll free # to Aeropostal is 1-888-912-8466 Also to anyone that is going to try this promotion two very important things to remember. 1- SAVE ALL TICKET COPIES AND BOARDING PASSES as I forsee a problem getting automatic credit on all flights especially TWA/KLM/USAIR. 2- Hopefully Latin Pass Will not Go BellyUp By The Time You Use That 1,000,000 Plus Miles!!!

I am not spending a penny until I am able to review the terms and conditions governing this offer.

For those of you who will be in a really big hurry, and are willing to spend a few more bucks just to get the bonus as quickly as possible, I present the following:

3/15 BOG-LIM Avianca #83 21:20-0:20 +1 $414/$341 (Bus/Coach)
3/16 LIM-UIO ACES #520 6:00-8:10 $XXX/$283
3/16 UIO-GYE SAETA #309 10:00-10:45 $XXX/$98.56
3/16 GYE-SJO LACSA #660 15:20-16:30 $392/$380
3/16 SJO-PTY TACA #523 20:20-22:30 $209/$165
3/17 PTY-MGA COPA #410 11:05-11:25 $303/$239
3/17 MGA-SAL NICA #571(Codeshare) 11:55-12:59 $XXX/$171
3/17 SAL-GUA AVIATECA #960 18:49-19:39 $108/$85

Total Coach: $1762.56
Total Business (where available): $1978.56
Total elapsed time: <48 hours
Some of these prices do not include taxes, these totals are artificially low. In addition, Aeropostal is not included. Finally,
you’ll need to confirm whether the NICA codeshare qualifies.
