Question re using Platinum amex MR points in Delta
Hi all. New here. Merry Christmas. I just booked a round-trip ticket for two from Charleston to Maui. I booked it through AMEX travel portal using my membership rewards points earned through my personal AMEX platinum card. I understand that it was probably not the best use of my points but my God they so easy. It was actually about 280,000 for both of us. Anyway, I am wondering if I will still get Delta miles for the travel since I used membership rewards points instead of paying cash? Related, I did pay cash to upgrade a portion of the flight to first class. Will I at least get points for that? Thanks!

When you Pay with Points at Amex Travel the full cost of the tickets was charged to your American Express card, and then points were redeemed to offset the transaction. Delta sees this as a ticket purchased through a travel agency (Expedia), the points are invisible. You are eligible to earn miles provided that you supply your Skymiles membership number and booked an eligible fare class.
