When you Pay with Points at Amex Travel the full cost of the tickets was charged to your American Express card, and then points were redeemed to offset the transaction. Delta sees this as a ticket purchased through a travel agency (Expedia), the points are invisible. You are eligible to earn miles provided that you supply your Skymiles membership number and booked an eligible fare class.
