I am a big fan of the dining program. I average 2-3,000 (Advantage) points per month. There are some great restuarants in this program. One of my favorites is Casablanca in South Beach. New York, Chicago and LA has some good selections.

I registered my Visa and pretty much forgot about DALC until I received my TWA statement and saw 880 miles credited to my account.

I took 2 friends out to dinner on Ocean Drive in South Beach and was pleasantly surprised when I saw the miles. Granted, it did take 2 months to hit, but the bottom line is they were there!

Cheers.

The dining program is good for the first visit of the month to each restaurant. Since I have several affinity cards, I have placed different cards with different programs, just in case I want to eat in the same restaurant more than once in a month. Also, AA has a bonus for gold or platinum elite, I believe through the end of the year in which you get 500 bonus miles for dining in 3 different restaurants in a month. So those with elite status with AA may want to make sure that one of their cards is with the dining program. I have found excellent restaurants - ones I would go to anyway, participating in the program, and I have tried some new restaurants because of their participation in the program and been very pleased. It is great when yo. The only dillemma is when a restaurant participate in both the Diners club 20% program and a mileage program. Sometimes I take the money, sometimes the miles. And yes, I have often been able to use an entertainment coupon since there is no way for them to know that your card is registered in a mileage program.
