Click Rewards and Starwood

I believe some time ago someone mentioned something about the Starwood program joining Click Rewards. With that in mind I emailed Click Rewards who told me that Starwood will be joining CR at some point. The email didn't give me an exact date. How fabulous that would be. Looking more carefully at the Click program I can acrossed Compubank. So here is an idea. Open an account with them, use your ATM/Mastercard for all purchases or
at least at merchants who don't take AE and earn 1 point for every $1. This does not however, apply to cash withdrawals at an ATM machine. Then when (and if) CR offers double point redemption, transfer those points to the Starwood program. You now have the double points sitting there safe and sound waiting to be transfered into ANY airline. Since Starwood does not currently have a mastercard or visa this is a way around having to use other airline affinity cards. Everything in one account and no big decisions to make about where to transfer those double (hopeful thinking) points. Any thoughts on this idea?

So far no details on transfer ratio, etc. Will it be 1 to 1? Marriott is 2 clickmiles to 3 Marriott points. Starwood points seem more valuable and 1:1 transfer ratio makes you think this has to be 1:1.

I will point out that last time when clickrewards did the double promo, it was only for airline miles, not including marriott or merchandise items, so if they do another, they may not include starwood. Of course, wouldn't it be nice if they did a double promo for the launching of starwood? we can always hope...

cheers
