Boycott Freeairmiles.com?
I am wondering what the appropriate response should be to a program that blatantly SPAMS our community's board? And this for a program which isn't even up and running yet. Could very well be someone just trying to attract e-mail addresses to send more spam to. I don't think much of this, and personally will forego the miles (only speculative miles at this point). Quite frankly, even though I like the miles, about the only thing that could make me sign up at some time in the future, after this episode, would be an appropriate apology for spamming the board. Just one person's opinion.

Djlawman, thanks for expressing the concern about spam. The author of the spam joined FT only on DEC 13 so his objective seemed to be one of self-promotion. I don't think we want this here.

Generally I am not bothered when posts like this come along. The poster did 2 things wrong, IMHO: Multiple posts and premature posting.
1) Posting once in the buzz or omni or wherever is enough.
2) This is a phantom offer. It looks fine and well if it ever actually starts. But I'll be D'amned if I'll sign up on the come!!!!
I think the poster should feel free to post ONCE in ONE forum once the offer actually exitst...

Maybe it was started by the same people who came out with webbonusmiles. Has anyone seen anything from that program?

Let's also remember that we pay nothing towards the upkeep of this board. Randy supports this service, in part, through paid advertising. Therefore, I don't mind reading advertising that helps support this service. I do mind being made subject to opportunistic free advertising masquerading as member posts.
