North to Toronto

After thursday night (10-08) The Catman's
north to Toronto for business and to see
"The New Red Green Show." Can't wait.

But it's a short trip (till Monday, 10-12)
so I'll be back soon enough getting great
advice from you folks and offering my own
Cat style of advice.

Yes, my traveling's probably irrelevent to
this forum but it was nice to get e-mail from
some of you saying you liked having me on
board here! THANKS & MEOW! CATMAN

Have fun in Toronto. Have you ever gone to the top of the CN Tower? For those unfamiliar, this is the tallest man-made structure in the world with an observation deck. Part of the observation deck floor is made out of thick plexiglass which you can walk on and look straight down!

Just be aware that the airport employees were on strike and it was slowing things down outside (apparently not on the runways) due to picket lines etc. I haven't been in touch with the news media the last couple of days and haven't heard if it has been resolved yet. I will be going through there next week -- anyone have any info?

Have a great trip Catman!

I return 10-12 and will let everyone know if
I had delays at Air Canada at Toronto.

Checked out Air Canada's website and based
on the press releases the airline planned to have regular service by 9-17. (Of course
most press releases are meant to accentuate
the positive... so we'll see.)

Interesting sidebar in another press release
from AC: the carrier lost 330 Million (I assume it's Canadian dollars, locator is in
Montreal) for a 13 day strike and AC will post losses for the third and fourth quarters and net loss for the year.

We can probably expect some MORE promotions
from AC to recoupe that cash soon.

Good luck in your travels BlondeBomber and
thanks for the good wishes! CATMAN

My hunnybear just flew in from YYZ and says the current strike by airport employees is having little or no effect on traffic. Apparently the current strike is by administrative employees, who apparently don't have much to do with airport operations. Kind of like when the federal government shut down and nobody noticed...
