Best E-Trade Deal?

I'd like to open an E-Trade account and wonder what the best offer is as far as points for opening an account. Any suggestions?

I can refer you to open an account if you want to. The current offer is 5000 UA miles for initial deposit of $1000-$9999. 10000 UA miles for $10000-$49999. 25000 miles for $50000.

I would go with clickrewards at www.clickrewards.com . The exact URL for etrade and clickrewards is: http://www.etrade.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi...tml&SC=VNCR569

you get 5000 clickrewards which can be converted into 5000 miles from almost all major airlines (so you get a choice!).
if you hold on to those clickrewards and wait for their bonus promotions, you can potentially have that doubled.
also, if you're not already a clickrewards member, you can sign up through a special american airlines link(search for it on flyertalk) that will give you double clickrewards points...

that means:
sign up through link = double points
sign up w/etrade = 5000 x 2(from above)
wait for clickrewards promo = 10,000 x 2

That's a potential 20k clickrewards points for a $1000 investment in E-trade. (More if you invest more).

When I signed up, Etrade threw in an additional $75 to boot.

MicroCenter offers a deal for a opening of a eTrade account. It doesn't give you miles but if you open a account and deposit 1000.00 they will credit account with 400.00 within 4-6 weeks. Please note you have to spend at least 500.00 at MicroCenter. They have all the info at the store. I am just waiting for that iBook to go on sale!

If you want a new computer, go to www.myfavoritepc.com. They sell a computer for $550, with a $100 instant rebate, $50 mail-in rebate, and $400 credited to your new E=Trade account with at least $1000.

Net cost: $74 for shipping.

or take a 75$ credit to your account instead of miles .....but given the fact that most of us are in for the miles I guess this 75$ credit is no option.

Makes me wish that I wasn't already an E*Trade customer.... Most of their offers aren't valid for people who are already E*Trade customers.

Harumph.

I am going to open an etrade account in january. Could someone explain the ClickRewards bonuses.

I couldn't find the American Airlines double like. I searched all the old posts. Anyone know the url.

I'm also new to ClickRewards, how and under what circumstances are the "double rewards" issued. I don't understand...

I opened an acount over three months ago. I have yet to see one mile in my FF account. The customer service is not too good. Promises, promises, promises.
