Thanks for the tip, I just made a reservation thru Expedia for the Sheaton Towers in Chicago. Was this a general promotion or as is the case lately, targeted to only specific Starwood members? I never seem to receive notice of any of these promotions.

Looks like it's available to ALL Starwood members. I found the promotion when I visited the Expedia website.

Thanks for this information. However, when I tried to book the new Four Points at Vancouver Airport, the system said it didn't exist! I know it does because I've already booked it through Starwood's own site.

Just proves Expedia really sucks. It has an inponderable interface, and I've never been able to find anything using it. Perhaps if their customer service folks are monitoring this site, they can explain why they can't find this hotel!

Do stays booked through this promotion count as a "STAY"?

Any blackout dates on the free stay. Do we just book the free stay through starwood? In another word, is this a Starwood recognize promotion or it is just by expedia?

Regards,
Empress

This is a very interesting offer, especially if it can be used with the 15K-Platinum offer. Does anyone know if the two offers will work together?

Shareholder, are you referring to Four Points in Richmond, BC? When you search with "Hotel Wizard", make sure you select "in and around a city" and select "Four Points Hotel" under hotel chain preference. Or search "Four Points Hotel" in Richmond, BC. These queries will locate the hotel you are looking for...

This could be a bug with Expedia's search engines but what do you expect from MS? Not all search engines are created equal and some engines are better than other.

Thanks Dilbert, but I did try it both ways ("in and around" YVR and Richmond, BC) and still got nothing. In both cases I used the Four Points and not the Starwood. Even using Starwood, all I got was the Westin Bayshore and the Sheraton Wall Centre.

As you say, what do you expect from Microsoft!? I'm a Mac person myself, and find that I can convert files from Word for Mac into every other PC word processor file, and my clients get a perfect translation, but when I try to go to a Word for Windows or PC, they get scrambled files that have to be edited and reformatted! But I digress...

Shareholder, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know what to say except I was able to find the hotel.

Shareholder - try Starwood hotels in and around a city (not near airport) - Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. I tried this and it shows up.

Unfortunately, Expedia seems a bit slow on updating its database with the new W hotels. I just checked for both W San Francisco and W Seattle, and neither showed up...

Here-I-Go:

The two offers are seperate, and you can get both sets of bonus points.

I booked 4 stays on expedia, an easy 8000 points.

I thought this would be a great deal for me. I've already got reservations at the Sheraton New Orleans during the promotion period, so I figured I'd re-book that reservation through Expedia, cancel my original reservation, and pick up an extra 1,000 bonus points.

But surprisingly enough, Expedia doesn't come up with the same rates as I previously reserved (and can still find) on sheraton.com.

Bonus points are great, but not at the expense of paying an extra $55 per night!

Has anyone seen the Expedia bonus points post to their Starwood account yet? If so, how long after your stay did it take? I have two stays completed, one about two weeks ago and the other in early November, and have not seen the bonuses.
