A friend calls some of these types IABs
Stands for "important a------ businesspeople". These are the people who have to be first on the plane (line cutters etc) even when they have a coach ticket, aren't premier/platinum/whatever status, and have three carry-ons. Not surprisingly, once on board, the IABs often become FRMs - "Fully reclining man" (it's almost never a woman).
These are the reasons I'll do just about anything to maintain my elite status! It's been a joy to use business/first class checkins all over the world in the last two years, hang out in lounges, and get on the plane before the unwashed masses.
