Speaking of that, the 100 AA miles posted this morning.

Is it possible to make a reservation with PH, have another family member (same surname) show up instead if I can't make it, and still get the 2000 mile first reservation bonus?

Possible. Possibly book on PH and then call up the hotel as you get closer to check-in date informing them that a relative will check in and then give them that person's name.

Point of reference: checked her account and the 100 miles were posted January 12 (which is the same day I did the signup). So, another 18 months of validity before I have to do something again.

Slightly OT - just got notified by Citi that they approved my biz card - 50K signup bonus. Wheee! What a life we lead over here!

My 100 AA points from 14 Jan are still showing as pending, even though it says they should be approved within 1 day and post in 3-4 weeks grr.

Pay no attention to what it may or may not say on the Pointshound site. What counts is what is posted on your AA account.

Same thing for my parents' accounts, Jan 13, still pending. And no posting on AA yet.
