I like this hotel a lot. It's in a good location - an easy walk to the water taxi to Granville Island and a decent walk in the other direction to Stanley Park.
Furnishings could have come from a modern art museum. Lots of fun touches throughout - room doors have about six peepholes in each, bathroom mirrors are heated in about an 8" square so they don't fog up after you shower. Rooms are spacious. I've always had a corner room, which means two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Even when I didn't have status with Starwood, the hotel has always upgraded me to a suite.

I was a Starwood member, but had no status.
Also I never asked for an upgrade. It's simply been a nice surprise at check-in.

FYI, they have a stop on one of the two routes for the airporter bus from YVR to downtown - $17CDN roundtrip isn't bad! The routes alternate every fifteen minutes, but even if you just miss the buss that stops here you can take the next one to the Hotel Vancouver and walk (about 5 blocks) instead o f waiting the extra fifteen minutes.
I was in YVR two weeks ago earning my OneWorld segments on CP, and stayed a block away from the Sheraton: the YMCA facilities probably don't compare (including a communal bathroom/shower), but the rate of $40CDN/night can't be beat!
