you CAN get miles booking on priceline
Howdy guys. Had to drop in again, if for anything, just to keep an eye on Catman!
In July I took a quick jaunt to Portland and after consulting my FT support team, I found the best deal via priceline. The bad news about priceline - no miles on any airline if the trip is booked through them. And the airlines can tell the flight was booked via Priceline from your reservation record.
Well, I thought I'd try something, just for kicks. What did I have to lose? Even though I was flying America West, I gave a desk agent in Pheonix my Continental number. No problem, he said.
I just checked my Continental account for the first time since I took the flight and lo and behold the flight had posted. Whether or not this will work every time is certainly no guarantee, but in my case, as it may be in yours if you ever decide to go this route, you might want to try giving a desk agent a partner FF number.
Hope this gets you many miles!

Good for you wanderlust, but I think you got really really lucky.
I can't see why priceline can't let us get our miles. UNTIL they do... I won't beam up to book there.
And so good to have you wanderlust back on teh boards! Your humor and good spirits were sorely missed!

I booked four tickets on Priceline in the past twelve months. Two of them wound up being on TWA, one on Delta, and one on UA. UA gave me miles when I gave the gate attendant my number. TWA and DL I can't comment on because, unfortunately, I didn't try.

I used Priceline once--didn't get miles. If you are not suppose to get miles, I'd hush. That's like daring Goliath to scrutinize your account. The way I see it, they cheat me sometimes (an occasional trip not credited), sometimes you get miles for a non-eligible trip.

I wonder if the reason you got the miles here is because you credited the flight to a different program than the carrier actually taken. Has anybody else tried this, and has it worked? Seems worth the try...
