Economy Plus on UA

One of my colleague told me today that UA is installing a section on the plane called Economy Plus which provides about 5 inches more of legroom. CAn anyone confirm this and give more details?

Regards,
Empress

I sat in Economy Plus seating last week from San Jose to Chicago -- what a difference! I could actually comfortably cross my legs. This is a major improvement for UA.

BBQ-- What kind of aircraft was that flight? I'm just wondering which planes they're outfitting first..

757, perhaps? The reps at the UA service center in IAD told me the other day that they knew of two planes already reconfigured.

BTW, I asked if the Shuttle planes were also slated for the new seats. The rep said, "eventually." Meaning, dead last. Natch.

BBQ- Be careful about crossing your legs. This practice can be quite dangerous, especially, if for long periods. On an airplane, where few of us get any material blood circulation anyway, this practice can lead to serious problems. If one must "cross their legs", try at the ankles, and then switch often.
