I have a flight planned to SouthEast Asia with a return after new year. I know that time of the year is not an easy award to find but I am wondering if anyone has tips/thoughts about finding award availability around 1/2-1/5. Funny thing is I actually had found a business level award for it a couple of months back but didn't have the points back then to make the purchase. What are the odds those awards are going to return as opposed to availability getting worse in the next month or two?

The flight I am looking for is DAC-SEA but I can am open to making my final SE Asia destination a different point like BOM or maybe even BKK or something.

I should mention the availability I have found so far is on UA, but I have points across the board so am open to others if necessary.
