I fly approximately five times to the mideast in a year for business. Im based out of yyz and am currently loyal to etihad. I find the prices out of yyz better on etihad than on emirates etc. last year end i was given gold status on etihad. Experienced one opup since then and have taken about 4 flights since then return. I buy the cheapest econ ticket available through my agent. I opt for the plusgrade few tomes on the longer leg of the journey. My question is how can i best utilize my travel to earn the most reward? Which airline if other than etihad should i look at? I have amex gold and spg. Got the bonuses and thinking of cancelling. I would like to fly out of yyz direct and dont prefer flying via us. Please give your opinions. Thanks.

Look for non stop and non us flights

I currently do that. I take non stop etihad. The thing is etihads required miles for upgrade or free ticket are too high.

This should be straightforward for you to figure out. Which other airlines fly nonstop from YYZ to your destination?

Sorry if i came out wrong. I wanted to get feedback on which airline is most rewarding in my case. I mean 5 flights and i can barely only get oneway upgrade to business with the miles accrued. Anything better out there that i dont know about.
