Right. Meaning this is good for the October trip home (where you have stuff), but for the big trips over and back at the beginning and end, not so much. Unless you ship all your Milano stuff under separate cover. Which, of course, has its own cost.

Thank you everybody for your excellent advice, it's very appreciated! I'll definitely look into transferring my Chase Ultimate Rewards to AA, UA, or Korean Air.

Thanks for the advice... Do I have to create accounts with Korean Air, AA, and UA to see how many points a reward flight costs with them?

I would create an account. Check for availability for the dates that you want (expert flyer). Call Korean Air and ask them to hold or transfer your chase points once you have confirmed availability.

you need to create an account. do that first. diff airlines will charge diff redemption points
