Question Choosing Programme

Hi everyone!
So I'm going to be flying Malaysia Air to KL from Bombay in about a week. I need to make a frequent flyer account to get miles for that. I'm new to the whole frequent flyer arena but want to make smart decisions.
Malaysia Airlines has Enrich, but is also a OneWorld member. I don't think I'm going to fly much on Malaysia Airlines after this trip. They're offering 1000 miles upon signing up, which is pretty good. How generous is Enrich with benefits?
I don't fly too much currently, maybe one medium-long haul a year and lots of domestic hops on Indian carriers, but in a year I will be going to Uni in the US and then will be travelling to India at least twice a year. Keeping this in mind, which OW programme should I sign up for? Would it make more sense to make a BA account and collect miles on that compared to sticking with Enrich? There are so many different things to take into account that I'm reeling
Thanks for your help
