Such as? I guess Aeroplan transfer bonus would be nice. Avios, maybe only to fund some short-haul flights...but I wouldn't transfer lots of points to that program.

A SPG transfer...now that's a different story. I wonder (hope, really) if because of Amex's loss of the Costco partnership on both sides of the border they look to make other relationships more attractive. Like SPG. Wishful thinking.

Just noticed the link to apply for the Canadian version of the Chase Marriott Visa has been removed from their website. You can still read about the card but the actual "Apply Now" is missing.

It seems some of the application links in the thread still work though.

Hopefully this card is not disappearing! So useful for my overseas spend!

Ouch. That would be bad...

hmm
i just applied and was approved for this card yesterday. I hope i still get it if it is going away!

Chase sold off the Bestbuy and Sears portfolio, so the only card left is the Amazon visa? Wouldn't take much to just sell that off too

MR still offering 50k (targeted)

A quick look at the source code reveals that the "Apply now" button is simply hidden by a HTML comment tag [colored in green in the above screenshot]. So it is definitely not a "bug", but a deliberate choice to hide it.

Hope this isn't a bad omen. I received an email today from Marriott Rewards offering me 50k after 1st purchase, though.

That's strange - just this morning I got an email from Marriott Rewards encouraging me to apply for the Canadian card.

Yes, well, I was until a few weeks ago when I transferred some over to BA for flights for the family for summer. Now I am at 70K+ and waiting...

This is NOT good news! It's foreshadowing something, for sure...if not dumping the card, re-branding it?

zer0k1 Feb 17, 2015 2:34 pm

Marriott's website still shows the card, with the 50k offer:

http://www.marriott.com/rewards/earn...ard-rewards.mi

Makes no sense that they've been offering the 50k and Chase's website only offers 30k. Its not like its targeted...

30k:
https://www.marriottpremier.ca/

50k:
https://lp34.marriottpremier.ca/?JOBNUM=VMR1407016

Edit: Looks like in order to get to the 50k page using that link you need to click through the first link I posted. You don't need to be logged in though. I guess technically the offer is for people who have an account, even though you don't need one, and making one is free

thanks for the workaround info zer0k1.

hopefully card sticks. I find these hotel points become more useful to remove the sting of a stronger USD (points haven't devalued as much as CAD).

I wish I had better use for them. I busted 32k on a 1-way flight from YYZ-LGA (less than 0.5c pp). I really just got it for the no forex fees.

Ouch

32000 Marriott points vs. 4500 BA Avios miles (+$60) for one-way YYZ-LGA

To be fair there was no availability on BA that weekend. Of course I would never have done it otherwise. My flight LGA-YYZ was booked with the 4.5k Avios (+$7).

Could have just bought the flight or flown from YTZ
