Reporting back on receiving DL SkyMiles credit on an AirMiles redemption. As others have mentioned, I did indeed accumulate SkyMiles on my DL AirMiles award redemption. RDM's earned on the basis of distance, not cost. This was a first for me, as my previous AirMiles AC redemptions, attributed to Aeroplan, earned nada.

Datapoints on MBNA Alaska card churning?

ie) Just signed up / instantly approved for the WE Mastercard.
Will meet min spend, get points.

How long should I wait after cancelling to apply for the other card (the Platinum Plus Mastercard) ?
Or re-appklying for the WE?

Cheers,
- Mike

Not sure if there is shorter time between the WE/PP card applications, but people who churn the Alaska WE usually wait 3-6 months between cancelling and reapplying and have successfully gotten the welcome bonus again. I'd suggest checking out r/churningcanada on reddit. Lots of good info and resources.

Shows how much Air Canada is such a stingy penny pinching company.

MBNA Alaska World Elite, cancel, and then re-apply same card?

My question was more regarding if you hold the MBNA Alaska WE and cancel, if anyone knows of a safe "gap" before applying for the other product MBNA Alaska card (Platinum Plus or whatever its called).

At least a month....to allow the credit bureau to get updated, that the account registers as closed ,when it's pulled for the new application.

Aeroplan has fixed a date for when miles must be used.

https://www.aeroplan.com/terms_and_c...entLanguage=EN

22. Subject to earlier termination or amendment of the Aeroplan Program, you can accumulate Aeroplan Miles until December 31, 2019, and request reward travel until March 31, 2020. Reward travel must be completed by December 14, 2020.

Nice find! I can't believe this important info hasn't received more online exposure. It would be nice to see Amex have a transfer bonus before then.

i think this is just standard among rewards terms. (Having an end date within the terms) And the date continually moves forward.... otherwise yes this would be big news.

That wording has always been there. They just change the date every year. Here's a similar post from 2017:

Good points. Thank you.
You're right; they've picked "December 14" every year, and extended it every year.

Although this might be the year it doesn't get extended again.
:(

Get 125 Aeroplan miles
Offer ends in 2 days

Sign up with AskingCanadians before August 29, 2019, and complete 1 consumer product survey by September 16, 2019, to earn 125 Aeroplan Bonus Miles.*

https://www.askingcanadians.com

... It's not a lot of miles, but this might be a good way to keep a dormant Aeroplan account active. Maybe you or a family member could earn a few miles to avoid expiry.

I used to be able to see a wiki at the top that showed updated credit card bonus' for Canadians but I no longer see it. Is this gone?
