Did anyone actually receive their 3000 Aeroplan miles from shop.ca with their TD Infinite card?

not yet.

I'm just gonna assume it's how promos usually work - we'll get it like a month after the promo is over........ so, never!

To be fair it did say you will receive them 30 days after the order ships...not "within" 30 days

RBC Business Avion. IIRC the bonus is usually 15k. Right now the offer is 20k. Also, something I hadn't noticed is that if you hold either the Plat Avion or infinite Avion, the annual fee on the business card drops to $50. So a 0.25c/Avion (or AA or Avios...pre any transfer bonus).

Not sure how tough they are on "business" definitions but I do have a business account at TD so could use that. I'll give it a shot and report back.

Hmm I wonder if they could be convinced allow a product switch from a personal to a business card... Probably not. It's too bad they only have 1 good biz card because I would be willing to dive in if I could switch back and forth like with the personal cards. I guess if I go in for this one I'll just switch to useless card just so I can switch back to this card over and over.

Would also like to know how strict they are with the business

Have to go to branch...they need 6 months of bank statements for the business, financial statements for the last 2 years, articles of incorporation. So there's some paperwork involved. They also need proof of personal assets, since personal aspects of your app will determine 90% of the response.

Geeze...all do-able but quite the hassle.

Just like a TD biz app is.

Thanx for the reality/fact check guys. You guys crushed my hopes so much I think I'll be hitch hiking to FL!

Anyone have room for a family of 4?

Seriously, how possible would it be to just drive as far south as possible and catch a plane ride out? BOS? ALB? JFK? IAD??? With points or low fare?

Any options welcomed!

FYI my airport is YUL

Alright,

So now the wedding is riding on the availability for EVERYONE!

People haven't booked, even close relatives are thinking of not attending. How can I find a solution for 50 people to go to Miami/FLL from YUL.

So now, this wedding might not even happen.

And yes, I did say 50.

What can be done?

Please tell me you don't want to use Aeroplan for this! ;)

+1 to charter a plane... you never know when the AC Jets plane may need to deadhead...

On another note its funny; my buddy was talking about this exact thing the other day. Idiotic destination weddings that force loved ones and family to take time off on set dates and force a destination on people that they may not necessarily want to go. The one common result is a lot of bickering, arguing and mis-content.

Assuming availability thats only 1,250,000 miles.

Now in reality you would be looking at market rates which would be closer to 2,000,000 miles.

If one travels paid J all the time and has no use for the points...

Personally I'd skip it. But that's just me.

Second, if this is a serious request go to the travel advice forum since this is not a miles buzz topic.

Good luck.

The wedding is on/near New Years. If this is a destination wedding, talk about selfish! Forcing everyone else to travel at the most expensive time of the year. Shall I dare ask... have you even looked at accommodation?

On a side note, some resorts offer the bride and groom a free stay if they force enough of their friends&family to book at the resort. F-THAT!

This falls outside of FT, maybe there is a BusriderTalk forum somewhere, but rent 1 or 2 busses to go down there, 24 drive back and forth and you'll fit your 50 or so people attending (a motorcoach is usually 42 seats if I recall correctly) if you all really plan on attending.

Ad for destination weddings, i'm not against it, but plan it ahead of time, and if possible, not during the most expensive day/week of the destination! They can be lots of fun, a nice vacation or long weekend to be with friends and family. I disgress, but they arent necessarily cheaper than an In town wedding, when you add all the gifts, clothes and prep necessary (especially for the ladies)
