Easter Island in an open Jaw between LAX and SYD
Is there any way to include Easter Island in a routing from US and SYD. I want to use Delta or United and can use Avios as well. What are my best options for stopovers and open jaw etc?

DL and UA miles won't help you get to ICP, if you are remarkably lucky with availability you may be able to use Avios to go LAX-LIM-IPC-PPT and then use UA miles to get from PPT to SYD by way of New Zealand. This would not be a great use of miles/points, but would give you lots of stopovers.

I don't think LIM-IPC is operating now. The only flights in IPC are SCL-IPC & IPC-PPT per wiki.

Only LAN (oneworld) flies to IPC. If you're flying from the west, you'd need to figure out a way to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) to get on the 1x/week PPT-IPC flight. From there, you can either go back to PPT or go to SCL (or LIM if it's South American summer).

Over the years I have used the BA web site to search for award seats on LAN between IPC and PPT multiple times (even searching every date over a 3 month period) and I have never once seen an award seat available in either direction. I think you're more likely to find a live Dodo Bird than to get an award seat for that route!

I tried for Easter island thru SCL from continental USA and they required 75000 miles for one coach ticket but never found a seat

Last year - April - I did Avios for two one way tickets - LAN JFK-SCL (stop)- IPC and then LAN IPC-LIM (stop) -JFK in J - I could not find anything to/from PPT. For this trip I skipped website and called to work w/agents easier as the other partners online was maddening

Last November, I went to IPC from LIM (Lima) and found award tickets using BA avios, but ended up paying cash instead cuz the price was actually not terrible (~$400 all in and I get AA miles) and the tax/fees on the avios ticket was quite high...
At that time, my research said that only LAN fly to IPC, and only from 2 airports - LIM and SCL. To make matters worst, the schedule is quite limited (not every day, at least not from LIM). I ended up only spending ~11 hours there, which was more than enough to see what I wanted to see.

Went to IPC last summer, but booked about 10 months before. I know, for a long time at least, LAN was not releasing any or very much award space on that route (and many others), so not sure if it has been fixed. reading some of the above posts, looks like LAN still doesnt release much, if any, space
