The right credit card for usus?
Hi all! I'm new to these forums and I was wondering if anyone could help?
I'm getting married and we were thinking of getting a credit card that we could use to get back miles or money for our honeymoon. we have a lot of big purchases to make prior to the actual wedding.
Here's are just some of the expenses we have:
2 flights to Slovakia to visit her family 2500$
2 flights for her parents from Slovakia to the US 2500$
then a potential honeymoon to the Caribbean for 2 4000$
so we are looking at around 9000$ just in flights/vacation not to mention the actual wedding.
So does anyone have any insight as to what credit card would be the best for us? or maybe none at all?
thanks for all your help!

Welcome to FT.
I assume you are mainly look for award flight/ upgrade.
If you can share your location/ route people can help you better.
Depend on your spending (to meet minimum spending requirement for bonus miles/points) you should each sign up 4-6 new credit cards:
Depend on your airline preference:
1. UA (Chase UA, Chase Sapphire preferred, Chase Ink Plus)
2. DL (AMEX DL, AMEX MR, AMEX SPG)
3. US (USbank US, AMEX SPG)
4. AA (Citi AA, AMEX SPG)
5. WN/Southwest (Chase WN, Chase Sapphire preferred, Chase Ink Plus)

Hey! Welcome to FlyerTalk.
Any ideas where you may want to go to the Caribbean? It's actually my favorite travel destination and I go there with miles/hotel points all the time. Just went to Grand Cayman in November. You can actually cover your hotels with the cards too. If you give some ideas of islands you may be interested in, we can also recommend some cards for that.
I see that HCA recommended the Starwood SPG. This is actually quite a good deal as they have three hotels in the Caribbean - Westin St. John, Westin Dawn Beach in St. Martin and Westin Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman and you should be able to spend 5 nights at any of them for 48,000 points.
