Loyalty to Hotel and Airlines Programs
Interesting Article in today's USA Today, regarding recent numbers of how loyal are travelers to airlines or hotels these days. Turns out not loyal at all. I am thinking if Hotels an Airlines consider these numbers, the rewards/bonuses may be limited in the future. Anyhow, some food for thought...

If travelers were blindly loyal, there would be no need for loyalty programs. Yes, a broad overstatement, but the main point is that the perceived lack of loyalty creates a very strong incentive for a company to try to build loyalty in other ways than relying on the kindness of strangers.

I would guess the average American looks for the cheapest flight possible and considers airline travel another form of mass transit.
