Matching a card on Star Alliance....

Hi all,

I`m new to this forum.... i am a gold on JAL and was a gold on cathay.....

my travel is now starting to the west and australia and i was wondering if with the help of these two cards can i get a match on any star alliance carrier.... my main travel is going to be in europe.....

Is there any credit card with which i can get an accelerated status on any star alliance carrier.

Very few credit cards offer elite status, and if they do, they require lot of spend.

You are better off matching your Cathay/JAL status to Turkish Airlines for Star Gold for 2 years -- http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/turki...ch-2012-a.html

Yes, at least either 20KG or 1 extra bag than what is normally provided. http://www.staralliance.com/en/benef...silver-status/

No credit card provides elite status, however, some credit cards provide benefits on the home carrier. For example, the United MileageExplorer Chase card gives you priority boarding and a free bag, but only on United flights, not on Star Alliance partners.

Some credit cards earn elite miles if you spend upwards of $25,000+ per year on them, but they are not enough for status by themselves.
